Yin is a slow-paced style of yoga, where the poses or asana’s are held for 2-5 minutes.
This allows the body to safely sink deeper into the pose and apply moderate stress to the tendons, ligaments and fascia aiming to increase circulation, around the joints and improve flexibility.
As a more meditative approach to yoga, its goal is to calm and balance the mind and body, reducing stress and anxiety.
You learn to observe the physical sensations and emotions within the body, allowing them a way out of your system.
Yin poses can stimulate meridians (energy lines) in the body. This helps with balancing the internal organs and improving the flow of chi or prana (energy/life force).
